About Us
Friendship Baptist Church is located in Ashwood, Victoria. Now more than twelve years since its inception, FBC places emphasis on both the local community and on missions — home and abroad.
A warm and welcoming congregation
Our congregation is a small multi-cultural group of saints who enjoy good fellowship together and the opportunity to worship our Lord each week. We use the King James Version Bible and love singing the old hymns.
Whether you have walked with the Lord for decades or are simply curious, you will find a friendly welcome at Friendship.
Plan your visitThe old Book, the old hymns
We preach from the King James Version and sing the grand old hymns of the faith — unhurried, reverent worship.
Genuine fellowship
A small multi-cultural family of saints who share life, meals, and encouragement together week by week.
Local church, world missions
From gospel tracts in Ashwood letterboxes to missionaries across the globe — the harvest is the heart of FBC.

What We Believe
A summary of the doctrines held and taught at Friendship Baptist Church, drawn from the Scriptures.
The Scriptures
We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Covenant as originally written were both verbally and plenarily inspired — the complete and infallible Word of God, our final authority for faith and practice.
The Godhead
We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — equal in every divine perfection and worthy of the same worship and obedience.
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the eternal Son of God — conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary — His sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and His personal return.
The Holy Spirit
He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. Among believers He is the agent of the new birth — He baptizes, indwells, seals, infills, guides, and teaches the way of righteousness.
Man
We believe man was created by a direct act of God, not from previously existing forms of life. By voluntary transgression he fell from innocence, so that all men are now sinners by nature and by conduct, under just condemnation.
Salvation
Salvation is divinely initiated and wholly of grace through the mediatorial work of the Son of God — apart from works, upon the sole condition of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation is eternal.
The Church
Inaugurated at Pentecost, the church is both Universal — all who are born again and baptized by the Spirit into the body of Christ — and Local: a fellowship of baptized believers gathered for worship, the ordinances, and the spread of the gospel.
The Ordinances
Baptism is the single immersion of a believer in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — a solemn and beautiful emblem of identification with the crucified, buried, and risen Saviour. The Lord’s supper commemorates His death till He come, preceded by solemn self-examination.
The Christian Walk
Every believer, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, should walk in Christian love and holiness, exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit — evidenced by sincere humility and genuine zeal for the advancement of the cause of Christ.
Separation
The believer should separate from worldliness, sin, and ecclesiastical apostasy unto God — practiced with devotion, humility, and compassion, yet with conviction, for the salvation of the lost through the gospel of Christ.

Our Missionaries
Friendship Baptist Church is dedicated to the proclamation of the gospel to all people, for we know it is God “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” In addition to proclaiming the gospel here at FBC and circulating it through tract distribution, we support mission works in other parts of the world.
A church in the metropolis
We support an Indian family who have a Baptist church in a metropolis. They have been labouring there faithfully for many, many years.
A witness to the Jewish people
We support a family who have diligently been a witness to the Jewish people in Israel. Their love for God’s Chosen People is well known, and it is our pleasure to help them as they seek to bring others to Christ.
Bound for the field
We support an Australian family who are preparing to head to the field of Mauritius to take the gospel there.
An indigenous church
We support an indigenous church whose pastor we have regular contact with, encouraging the work here at home.
Ministry to orphans
We support an Australian pastor who ministers to the orphans in the slums of Tondo.
A new work begun
We support a national family who has begun a new work on the island of Mindanao.
Voice of the Martyrs
FBC has faithfully supported the Voice of the Martyrs since its beginning. We are faithful to remember God’s command, to “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”
Pastor Kyle
“After going to church weekly from the age of two, I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus at age 15…”
Pastor Kyle shepherds the flock at Friendship Baptist Church — preaching from the King James Version, week by week, with a heart for the local congregation and for the harvest fields of the world.
Beyond the pulpit he writes gospel tracts for letterbox distribution around Ashwood and books to encourage believers — you’ll find both under Resources.
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
